"When I first visited the Blue Water Acres site - I was mainly being curious about a Fractional Ownership cottage in Muskoka for only 29,000 as I had seen many advertisements about other properties with prices much higher than this. However, I didn't expect to like it as much as I did. I love the lay-out of the resort and the Model cottage impressed me. When we were much younger and our children were growing up, we owned a cottage but ended up selling it after a few years because of the maintenance, time and money involved in operating it. I love spending time at cottages and now I will be able to spend time with my grown-up children and grand-children at a wonderful resort where we can enjoy the activities together on a seasonal basis. What impresed us the most was the 'no pressure' sales tactic we experienced at Blue Water Acres. We fell in love with the cottage, the price was right, the idea of no upkeep on our part was also a big part of our decision to buy. Being a teacher, when we went looking for a Fractional Ownership Cottage I made up a comparison chart. It included headings such as location, shoreline features, acreage, square footage of cottage, amenities, price, etc.; so that we could make an informed decision about the five different sites that we looked at.

While Blue Water Acres had many of the same summer amenities and features as other properties, what set it apart in my mind was the waterfront "long view" and the amenities available in the winter months such as the indoor pool, sauna and hot tub, owner’s lodge/fitness centre, as well as the winter ice rink and tubing hill, cross-country ski trails, etc. It was also appealing to us as we downhill ski, and Hidden Valley is only ten minutes away. This made Blue Water Acres truly an "All Season" destination which we, and all family members, could enjoy!

We had thought over the years that it would be nice to have a cottage. However, we are very busy, and with the rising costs of cottages, the maintenace and taxes, it wouldn't warrent putting out that kind of money when we can't use it often enough. We weren't even shopping for cottage property, but when we stopped in at Blue Water Acres, we fell in love with the lake. We also like the fact that there is a pool, tennis court and beautiful spacious grounds that offer other activities.And for a reasonable price. We thought this would be the perfect solution for us.
